Vacuum-Distilled Calabrian Bergamot Citrus Aurantium Bergamia Peel Italy

Although its roots can be traced back to South East Asia, Bergamot was more widely cultivated in Southern Italy, specifically in the coastal regions of Reggio di Calabria and Sicily. The name Bergamot is derived from the city Bergamo in Lombardy where the oil was originally sold. The Bergamot tree has star-shaped flowers and can grow up to four meters high. It has smooth leaves and produces a citrus fruit resembling a cross between an orange and a grapefruit, which ripens from green to yellow. The essential oil is extracted from the peel of the fruit, and is a thin, light yellowish green-brown liquid when refined.

Our Bergamot Oil is Bergapten-Free. Bergapten is a type of furanocoumarin that can be ordinarily be found in the Bergamot orange. It is an undesirable chemical compound that can make skin sensitive under sun exposure (also referred to as “photo-sensitivity”) after use. Our Bergamot Essential Oil is vaccum-distilled to explicitly strip reactant away from the oil, to make it safer and more comfortable to use in cosmetics. That said, Brgamot Oil is an Essential Oil and should still be diluted in a Carrier before being applied to skin.

The aroma affords a medium strength middle note that is citrussy and yet sweet with warm, spicy floral tops notes that is so rcognizable due to its use in perfumery as well as in the preparation of Earl Grey Tea. The scent of Bergamot blends with Clary Sage, Frankincense, Geranium, Jasmine, Mandarin and Blood Orange, Ylang Ylang Essential Oils, or even Sandalwood. Bergamot Oil can also help reduce pain and inflammation, minimize uninvited bacterial or fungal activity, and ease muscle spasms. Bergamot Essential Oil is deeply relaxing, restorative, and calming.

The flesh of a blood orange has streaks of red, and when squeezed the juice appears stained. The blood orange is a recent hybrid that was originally developed in China and the Southern Mediterranean in the early 1700’s, and the three strains that are widely cultivated today are known as the Moro, Toracco, and Sanguinello.

Our organically crafted Blood Orange Essential Oil is Cold-Pressed from the red-fleshed rinds of the fruit, and sustainably harvested from wild Sicilian orchards. Blood Orange Essential Oil is a light, amber coloured liquid. Its red pigment, anthocyanin, is an antioxidant uncommonly found in the citrus family.

Sicilian Blood Orange Oil has a warm, fresh citrus scent that is sweet and fruity, as well as tangy and bold with a slight woody note. It is a middle-top note of medium-strength aroma. The scent blends well with Lavender, Lemon, Bergamot, Clary Sage, Myrrh, Frankincense.

Beyond its delicious scent valued by aromatherapists for its uplifting, invigorating, and yet calming aroma, Blood Orange Oil has some reported benefits. It’s potent anti-oxidant properties, when diluted properly, makes Blood Orange Essential Oil excellent in its use against fine lines and wrinkles on skin (the visible signs of aging). It’s also anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-septic, and hence a popular choice for infusion into cleansing products.

Our organically crafted Ceylon Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil is steam distilled from the sustainably wild-crafted, spicy bark of the Cinnamomum Zeylanicum tree (an evergreen of the laurel family) that grows wild in the forests of Sri Lanka. The tree has a very thin and smooth, yellowish-brown bark, that is highly fragrant. The extracted oil takes form as a clear, yellowish-brown liquid as well. Cinnamon has a long history of culinary uses, adding spice to desserts, entrees, and hot drinks, as well as cosmetics.

Cinnamon Oil is rich in aldehydes, particularly Cinnamaldehyde, which can help reduce inflammation and act as an antimicrobial. Cinnamon also supports healthy metabolic function, which helps maintain a healthy immune system throughout the year. Cinnamon Oil, when applied topically in extremely low dilution, assists in restoring ease and comfort to tired, fatigued or overworked bodies.

In natural perfumery, the sweetness of Cinnamon adds warmth and spiciness to perfumes when used in trace amounts. Its scent is a strong middle note, sharper than that of Clove Oil, and blends well with Lavender, Citrus flavours and flowery aromas like Ylang Ylang. This essential oil is incredibly uplifting and can be used in aromatherapy to inspire sensual moods with its aphrodisiac qualities.

Steam-Distilled Clary Sage Salvia Sclarea Flower France

Clary Sage is a short perennial herb with large, hairy leaves with small pastel-purple (almost blueish) flowers. The name is derived from the Latin word Claris, meaning ‘clear’, and by the Middle Ages, it was known as Oculus Christi or the Eye of Christ owing to its conventional use in eye-health. During the sixteenth century, it was used in England as a replacement for hops in breweries. It is now also used in formulating natural perfumes.

Our organically crafted Clary Sage Essential Oil is steam distilled from a composition of traditionally dry and fresh “Vert Broye” flowers and soft green leaves of the Salvia Sclarea perennial plant, cultivated in colourful fields by the mountain regions of France. The essential oil forms as a thin and very clear, pale yellow liquid.

Clary Sage Oil has fresh, warm, sweet-herbaceous middle notes with a slight bitter, heady undertone that may accent tea or even soft tobacco. The essential oil pairs well with Citrus aromas like Bergamot or Neroli, flowery notes like Geranium Oil, Chamomile, Jasmine, or Ylang-Ylang. Clary Sage Oil also interestingly blends well with woody scents like Sandalwood to complement its steeped aromas.

In aromatherapy, the scent of Clary Sage Oil is considered mood-lifting, promoting a sense of calm and restful sleep. Many cultures even consider this stress relaxant to be a potent aphrodisiac! When used diluted in Oil Massage therapy, Clary Sage Essential Oil helps to ease muscle spasms and reduce minor inflammation under the skin. Its anti-bacterial properties can boost a compromised immune system and the vapours can help open airways during minor asthma attacks.

Fractionated MCT 60/40 Cocos Nucifera Kernel Sri Lanka Dry Skin

Coconut oil is a favorite among many for its amazing health promoting and beautifying properties. It smooths skin and reveals a fresh, glowing complexion for those who tolerate it well. Most, however, do not tolerate unrefined coconut oil well on their face due to its high comedogenic rating (4). Coconut oil is rather heavy and may be better used at night.

Our Coconut Oil is organically sourced out of Sri Lanka and is Fractionated through Esterification processes. Fractionated coconut oil (also known as MCT 60/40 Oil in its ultra-refined form) is often used when the solidifying properties of pure coconut oil at room temperature are not desired. It remains a clear liquid, with perhaps a faint yellow tint, and odourless, and is therefore more useful for cosmetic applications like hair and body care.

The vast majority of MCT 60/40 sold in the market is extracted from cheaper Palm Oil or a mixture of Palm and Coconut. Our Fractionated Coconut Oil is guaranteed pure.

MCT Oil (which stands for “Medium Chain Triglycerides”) is more suitable for dry skin types but may clog the pores due to its high caproic (C6), caprylic (C8) and capric (C10) fatty acid content, which itself has a comedogenic rating of 2. It does have a lower comedogenic rating than Coconut Oil because it has had its long-chain triglycerides removed, making it less oily and easier to absorb into the skin. Our Coconut Oil makes for an extremely stable and effective transdermal nutrient carrier when infused with other essential ingredients.

MCT 60/40 is non-greasy and absorbs easily into the skin. Again, as it is an incredibly stable form of Coconut Oil, if kept under the right conditions (refrigerated or stored in a cool, dry place and out of direct sunlight), MCT Oil can have a shelf life from 3 to 5 years.

Steam-Distilled Sacred Frankincense Boswellia Sacra Resin Oman Dry Skin Mature Skin

Frankincense Oil is extracted from resin that originates from a small, hardy tree (indigenous to the Middle East). The tree trunk is tapped, and its resin begins to flow as a fragrant sticky milky-white liquid. Once collected, the resin is distilled, producing the precious oil. The resin is also known as Olibanum, derived from the Arabic “al-luban” meaning from milk, and is highly prized for its medicinal and restorative properties. Interestingly, Frankincense was brought back to Europe by Frankish Crusaders, which is where the spice adopts its common name today.

Our organically crafted Frankincense Sacra Essential Oil is hydro-distilled from the resinous dried sap of Boswellia Sacra trees found native in Oman. The light, greenish-hue resin is carefully harvested from regions under permission of the royal family to work with the coveted “Royal Hojari” resin, as it is known locally. Traditionally, this strain of the highest quality is also referred to as Sacred Frankincense, and both its burning incense and oil have ritually been used for thousands of years (first used by Ancient Egyptians as early as 1500BC) seeking its healing properties.

Boswellia Sacra Essential Oil has a warm, woody, smoky aroma in its base note of medium strength, with peppery undertones and a citrussy top notes. The aroma is uplifting and blends well with other scents like Bergamot, Chamomile, Cinnamon, Clary Sage, Geranium, Myrrh and Vanilla.

Frankincense Sacra Oil is used in skincare for its nourishing properties and for rejuvenating the skin. Mature and damaged skin benefits greatly from deeply hydration, but when used in correct dilution, the oil has even been known to improve healing of scar tissue as well as reduce minor pain and inflammation owing to muscle tension, with its high alpha-pinene content. Sacred Frankincense is truly a blessing!

Solvent Extraction Jasmine Absolute Jasmine Grandiflorum Absolute Flower India

Jasmine has been referred to as the King of Oils (Rose being the Queen). This is because Jasmine is considered the most masculine of all the floral oils. Jasmine Grandiflorum is a beautiful plant and its flowers bloom early in the dawn. Another variety of the plant, Jasmine Sambac, is very similar except that it blooms in the evening. The aromatic Jasmine blossoms are carefully handpicked and collected before sunrise in order to yield the highest essential oil concentration during distillation. It takes many thousands of carefully hand-picked blossoms to produce a single millilitre of Jasmine Absolute and bruising of petals can manifest as unpleasant notes following distillation.

Our organically crafted Jasmine Absolute Oil is extracted from the small, white, fragrant blossoms of the Jasminum Grandiflorum (the dawn-blooming variety of Jasmine) shrub growing in India. The extracted oil is a thin, light reddish-brown liquid with a strong middle note aroma that blends well with most oils. It has a smooth, extremely intense floral smell that is both sweet and lingering and combines particularly well the scents of Sandalwood or Ylang-Ylang. Jasmine Absolute has a tenacious aroma with a deep richness and a somewhat musky undertone. Only a hint of this precious oil is needed to impart elegance, balance, and smoothness to perfume creations.

Jasmine Grandiflorum Absolute is renowned for its exquisite bouquet, and regarded as a potent aphrodisiac, encouraging uplifting moods. It is a popular aromatherapy choice for women during labour, as the oil is believed to stimulate contractions while providing comfort and pain relief. When correctly diluted (Absolutes are oils of extreme concentration), Jasmine Oil can be used as a gentle toner for irritated or reddened skin, returning the face back to its fresh and dewy complexion. Further, Jasmine Absolute can help manage minor pain and inflammation and reduce the presence of unwanted bacterial activity.

Unrefined (Cold-Pressed) Jojoba Seed Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Israel Dry Skin Balanced Skin Oily Skin Sensitive Skin Mature Skin

Organic Golden Jojoba oil is a holy grail acne treatment for many because it mimics the consistency of our own sebum. Jojoba Oil is actually a golden to yellowish-brown liquid wax at room temperature, turning cloudy when cooled, which makes it incredibly stable (shelf life of up to 20+ years when stored correctly out of direct sunlight). Jojoba Oil can even be added to other carrier oils in order to extend shelf life.

Jojoba is well tolerated by all skin types, but new users often experience a “purge” of toxins when they begin using it. Normally, this purge completes in a few weeks, revealing clearer pores and revitalized skin. This oil is perhaps more interesting to those with oily skin types as it helps balance the production of excess oil. It is fast at absorbing nutrients deep into the skin with a light moisturizing feel that leaves a satiny finish. The golden variety of Jojoba may alter color and odors in cosmetics, and so less popular in typical skincare, but its rich organic composition of nutrients should not be overlooked.

Our organically crafted, unrefined Jojoba Oil is Cold-Pressed from the seeds of Simmondsia Chinensis, which natively grows in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona, Northern Mexico and arid parts of California. It is simply bursting with nutrients and particularly rich in Vitamin E, a natural preservative and powerful Anti-Oxidant that is used widely in skincare to improve the complexion and elasticity of your skin and reduce the signs of aging.

Jojoba Oil is also rich in beauty-boosting vitamins A and D, amongst other antioxidants and fatty acids. Steam-Distilled French Lavender Lavandula Angustifolia Flower France

The Lavender plant is a woody evergreen shrub with narrow, pale green leaves and violet blue flowers. The entire plant is covered with oil glands and has been used since ancient times when bathing. The Romans added lavender to their bath water, hence the name from the Latin lavare, meaning “to wash”. Differences in soil, altitude and temperature, precipitation and seasons contribute to subtle changes in the scent from one lot of Lavender to another.

Our organically crafted Lavender Essential Oil is steam distilled from vibrant flowers of the Lavandula Angustifolia plant growing in cascading purple fields across the French countryside. It forms as a clear and colourless to pale yellow liquid. Although this iconic plant thrives in harsh environments across many parts of the world, France is still considered to be the producer of the most remarkable Lavender of the highest quality.

Our exquisite French Lavender Oil has its own distinct nuances of sweet floral and rich herbal notes that speaks of the rich soils found in southern climates of the famous region, making it exceptionally suited for aromatherapeutic applications. The Lavender scent blends with citrus and floral aromas like Bergamot, Chamomile, Clary Sage, Geranium, Jasmine, Lemon, Mandarin, Neroli, Patchouli and Ylang-ylang.

The cooling, relaxing and mood-enhancing effects of Lavender Oil have been cherished throughout the world for thousands of years. It is used extensively in aromatherapy and works as a natural sleep aid with its rich, dense and recognizable aroma. French Lavender Essential Oil is useful for formulating blends to help pain and inflammation relief, while encouraging skin healing. Lavender Oil is also particularly known to have insect repellent properties and can even be used to soothe bug bites and stings.

Steam-Distilled Lemon Oil Citrus Limonum Peel Italy

The Lemon tree was originally a small thorny evergreen tree native to India. It is now commonly cultivated in Southern Europe, Florida and California. The Greeks and Romans, historically, were fervent advocates of the oil’s properties. Lemon Oil has been recognized as an excellent cleanser, and in 1973, a Scottish surgeon with the British Royal Navy cemented its medical benefits by proving its efficacy in treating scurvy.

Our organically crafted Lemon Essential Oil is Cold-Pressed from the bright yellow rinds from fresh harvests of the Citrus Limon fruit, cultivated in the sunny orchards of the Italian countryside. The oil is extracted as a thin, clear and pale greenish-yellow liquid with a strong top not aroma that smells like… Well, lemons! Lemon oil also blends well with other Citrus flavours, adding a sharpness without taking away from sweeter concoctions. Like most other citrus peel oils, Limonene is the dominant constituent of Lemon Oil, lending a zesty bite to the overall aroma, helping with mental alertness and improving concentration through aromatherapy.

Along with being an exceptional choice for cleansing, Lemon Oil is a strong choice for formulating blends targeting bacteria, purifying minor infections, as well as the treatment of both pain and inflammation. It also has strong antioxidant activity and anti-aging effects and is effectively able to reduce cell and tissue damage in the skin caused by free radicals.

Unrefined (Cold-Pressed) Mandarin Orange Citrus Reticulata Peel Italy

A member of the orange family, Mandarin trees are smaller, with smaller leaves and fruits. Mandarin Essential Oil, with its many applications in the flavoring industry, is commonly used in soaps, cosmetics, perfumes and men’s colognes. The tree is native to southern China where it was originally cultivated and brought to Europe in 1805. Mandarin crop only arrived in North America forty years later.

Our organically crafted Mandarin Essential Oil is cold pressed from the bright, fresh peel of fully ripened, mature Citrus Reticulata fruits (Mandarin Oranges) growing in orchards that line the warm, southern Italian countryside. Our Mandarin Oil has an unusually zesty and intense (yet refreshing) citrus aroma, characteristic of sweet oranges, with lightly tangy-sweet top notes, which blends well with other citrus oils such as Bergamot or Lemon and creates interesting aromas with more woody oils like Sandalwood or Cinnamon. When extracted, the oil is a thin, yellow orange to dark orange liquid.

Mandarin Oil’s main constituent in its aroma is Limonene. There are a number of other sharp, citrusy aldehydes at that appear at low concentrations upon chemical analysis that nonetheless contributes significantly to the overall aroma. This essential oil can help ease unwelcome muscle spasms as well as help support healthy lung and airway function. It can also be added to various skin care formulations to smooth the skin and add natural beauty.

Unrefined (Cold-Pressed) Passion Fruit Seed Passiflora Edulis Seed Peru Oily Skin Sensitive Skin Mature Skin

Passion fruit is harvested from an evergreen vining Passiflora plant, and the fruit itself is a form of berry that grows on the vine. Passion fruit is cultivated in two varieties; the purple skinned Passiflora Edulis (when ripe) and Passiflora Flavicarpa, which appears naturally yellow. Both types are oval-shaped with leathery skin, plum-sized, and have juicy interiors with black (edible) seeds affording a sweet flavour with tart sourness in its taste.

Maracujá is Portuguese for Passionflower, and actually refers to a cousin of the Passion Fruit called Granadilla (Passiflora Ligularis). This fruit is larger than the Passion Fruit we are used to (about the size of a grapefruit), has larger seeds, and is sweeter without the tartness. Misnomer aside, these days Maracuja Oil simply refers to the exquisitely luxurious oil drawn from the smaller berries, and not the Granadilla kind.

Our organically crafted Passionfruit Seed Oil is Cold-Pressed from the tiny seeds of Passiflora Edulis, native to the lush South American rainforests in Peru. When extracted, the oil appears golden with the mild aroma of the passion fruit it is drawn from.

Maracuja Oil is an excellent emollient that is heralded for its light, non-greasy texture, rapid absorption and essential fatty acid composition (Omega-3 and Omega-6). The Linoleic Acid content keeps skin moisturized and is ideal for soothing dry, flaky skin and also inflamed acne prone skin. If you are a fan of Argan Oil but need something with even more emollient properties (skin softening), then this is the oil for you.

This oil is simply packed with nutrients. With its incredibly rich Vitamin C content, Passionfruit Seed Oil delivers an important nutrient for healthy skin growth. Maracuja Oil is also rich in protective antioxidants like the Lycopene Carotenoid. These nutrients battle the effects of sun damage (UV free radicals) and other environmental pollutants and stressors. Lycopene works with Maracuja’s natural Vitamin C content to even skin tone and promote collagen production for firmer, brighter, smoother skin and less visible wrinkles, reducing the signs of aging, making it brilliant for mature skin. Maracuja Oil’s anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties also helps to facilitate wound healing, by eliminating harmful bacteria. These same qualities help to prevent the onset of acne breakouts, addresses skin flaking, and promotes healthy skin regeneration.

As a result, Passionfruit Seed Oil is often also used for hair treatment, nourishing follicles by conditioning dry or damaged hair and moisturizing the scalp to combat dandruff. Being highly resistant to heat and oxidation, Passion Fruit Oil can also be used as a pre-styling treatment to protect the hair against straightening, curling, or blow-drying. Maracuja’s texture and protective properties contributes towards improved hair volume and sheen, while helping to reduce excessive natural scalp oiliness by bringing back balance to the underlying skin.

Hence, this oil is also a brilliant choice for those with oily or combination skin too, locking in moisture without leaving that heavy, greasy feeling that other oils often have as a compromise for accessing their skin nutrients.

The Marula tree is a medium-sized dioecious tree, indigenous to the Miombo woodlands of Southern and West Africa. The Marula fruit is about the size of a plum, with bright yellow, leathery skin when ripe, and is popular with African elephants! The flavorful juicy white flesh of the fruit surrounds a hard brown stone, inside which are the seeds that are so rich in oil that even a tight squeeze with the hand can release a rich yield.

The raw materials for the oil are harvested and Cold-Pressed by community collectives of mostly women. When extracted, the deeply nourishing carrier oil appears as a pale-yellow, stratified semi-solid that melts upon immersion in warm bath water. Marula Oil has a mild scent characteristic of carriers that can subtly change based on the growing season and when the fruit was harvested.

Our organically crafted Marula Oil is extracted from the kernels of the fruits of the wild growing Sclerocarya Birrea trees found in the open woodlands of Sub-Saharan Africa. Marula Oil has long been revered for its diverse cosmetic applications to naturally soften, nourish and revitalise skin and promote hair growth.

Marula oil is a light textured oil that is fast absorbing, nutritive, and soothing for all skin types. It contains powerful antioxidants that fight against environmental aggressors, reverses sun damage, and reduces the signs of aging. This is a great oil to use for moisturizing drier skin types that also tolerate coconut oil well but may clog pores for those with acne conditions, given its high comedogenic rating.

Marula Oil is known to repair skin damage caused by pollutants, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and blemishes and prevent skin from losing moisture. The oil also exhibits anti-microbial properties that limits bacterial and fungal growth.

Rich in antioxidant and essential fatty acids, Marula Oil has been found to significantly improve skin hydration, softness and smoothness. It absorbs well through the skin and is excellent as a pure massage oil or blended, leaving a silky-smooth feel. It has excellent oxidative stability, which makes it an ideal choice for a modern cosmetic formula such as leave-in hair treatments, scalp conditioners, hair lotions, skin moisturizing lotions, body butters and even lip treatments.

Marula Oil contains a large percentage of monounsaturated fatty acids and natural antioxidants (even more than Argan Oil) which makes it one of the most stable oils available. Being the richest plant source of Omega-9 fatty acids, Marula Oil works to protect the scalp against harmful bacteria and inflammation and strengthens hair against damage caused by effects of harsh weather.

The Pomegranate plant is a neat, rounded shrub (or small tree) that is native to regions ranging from Iran through to the Himalayas in northern India but was introduced and cultivated in Mediterranean regions since ancient times. The fruit has a leathery shell with seeds encased in ruby-like flesh that is sweet to taste. Pomegranate Seed oil is a rich and nutritious oil, which may be ingested or used topically. Over 100 pounds of fresh and dried pomegranates seeds to produce a single litre of the oil. Pomegranate seed oil may be used in most skin care formulas, including soap making, massage oils, facial care products, and other body care and cosmetic products. Due to its potency, only a small amount is needed within formulas to achieve beneficial results.

Our organically crafted Pomegranate Seed Oil is Cold-Pressed from the seeds of the beautiful red-purple Punica Granatum seeds grown and picked from sunny orchards in India. The extracted oil appears as a thin golden liquid with a mild (if not bland) aroma that is characteristic of most carrier oils. The oil is highly sought-after and considered a luxurious commodity.

Pomegranate Oil boasts brilliant emollient properties (skin softening) allowing it to spread easily without leaving a greasy residue on your skin. It also acts as a humectant, helping you to retain moisture and provide nourishment and return vibrancy to dry, parched and lacklustre skin.

Pomegranate Seed Oil is a rare source of Punicic Acid, one of the most powerful known plant-based antioxidants. The oil is also rich in Vitamin E which, together, allows the oil to protect skin cells from oxidative damage exceptionally well. Its high resistance to oxidation is another reason why the ingredient is in such high demand in cosmetic applications, for its stabilizing properties.

While the oil is suitable for all skin types, its deeply hydrating quality is of great interest to sufferers of dry and flaky skin. Its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties are able to calm and improve sensitive and acne prone skin too. Mature skin also benefits tremendously from Pomegranate Oil’s impressive moisturizing ability, and in particular, for the oil’s ability to improve skin elasticity, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and for its sought-after plumping. As a light oil without a greasy after effect, people of oily skin should also take notice.

Pomegranate Seed Oil is also a very popular choice for hair treatments and serums. Its high content of antioxidants and vitamins helps to increase blood circulation in the scalp, strengthen blood vessels, and promotes healthy hair growth as a result. This natural moisturizer provides vital nourishment for hair, which reduces tangling and matted hair, scalp flaking and itchiness, and offers a solution for anyone battling dandruff or thinning. Further, by hydrating and deep conditioning the hair follicles, the oil is known to return shine to dull hair.

Unlike its counterparts like coconut or argan oil, pomegranate oil is ultra-lightweight and absorbs rapidly into the skin. Its superior absorbency allows it to quickly penetrate to deeper layers, and deliver Vitamins A, D, E and K to the Epidermis. This also makes the Pomegranate Seed Oil an excellent carrier for other Essentials when blended in.

Pomegranate Seed Oil is beneficial to nearly all skin types. It has also been shown to help sunburned skin. Evidence suggests that its calming and healing properties may even aid in the treatment of numerous skin problems like eczema and psoriasis, where moisture is key for soothing.

Steam-Distilled Roman Chamomile Anthemis Nobilis Flower United States

Chamomile, part of the Daisy family, may actually be harvested from either of two varieties. German Chamomile, or Matricaria Recutita, has very similar properties to Roman Chamomile, but is technically considered to be a false Chamomile. These flowers grow extensively in Central and Eastern Europe as well as Asia. The name, Chamomile, is derived from the Greek “chamomaela”, meaning ground apple, and refers to its low-growing fresh blooms that exude a pleasant apple-like aroma.

While the differences are subtle, Roman Chamomile (Chamaemelum Nobile), also known as English Chamomile, is considered to be the true and finest of the Chamomiles and can be identified by its small white perennial flowers with saffron-yellow centers and lacey leaves, typically growing in Western Europe and North Africa. Egyptian Chamomile (which is actually either of the aforementioned types except grown in the Nile River Valley) has a very special legacy in Ancient Egyptian culture. Chamomile was considered sacred for the Sun God Ra and revered above all other herbs and can even be found depicted in hieroglyphs dating back thousands of years.

Our organically crafted Roman Chamomile Essential Oil is steam distilled from the delicate flowers of the Anthemis Nobilis (a synonym of Chamaemelum Nobile) that is grown and harvested in the rolling countryside of Oregon, USA. It’s extracted form is a thin liquid with a remarkable light blue hue (much like copper sulphate solution), and perhaps with a tinge of yellow. Roman Chamomile delivers an intense, sweet, fresh and fruity middle note scent with soft herbal notes (like sweet straw) and a woody undertone in the dry down. This aroma blends particularly well with other floral scents such as Lavender, Geranium, Rose, Jasmine, Clary Sage or Ylang-Ylang, as well as citrus tones like Bergamot, Neroli or Lemon.

Roman Chamomile helps to promote smooth, healthy skin and relieves irritations by its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial strengths. Its composition includes Angelic and Tiglic Acids (including the Angelates and Metacrylates), accounting for up to 80% of the total oil by volume. With a chemical profile full of esters and other calming constituents, Roman Chamomile Essential Oil is in high demand for its potential to ease muscle spasms and to reduce minor pain from inflammation, making it a stand-out ingredient for massage oils, salves, and compresses, where it helps relieve fatigued and sore muscles.

In aromatherapy, Roman Chamomile Essential Oil is highly adored for its notable calming and restorative qualities, and like the tea that is brewed from the herb, encourages restful sleep.

Rosehip Seed Oil is acclaimed for its ability to reduce the appearance of scars and wrinkles and improve skin colour and tone. The oil is also packed with molecules that are small enough to penetrate deeper layers of the Epidermis, improving moisture and collagen levels for drier skin conditions. Filled with antioxidants, Rosehip Seed Oil also helps to reinforce the skin’s protective barrier from sun damage, pollutants and environmental stressors. It is prized for its ability to renew and add radiance to skin.

For centuries, the Andean Indians of Chile have relied on the nutritive and anti-inflammatory benefits of Rosehip Seed Oil for traditional medicinal, skincare and hair treatments. The oil possesses a unique nutrient profile that is rich in Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids, making it a natural choice for moisturizers and hydrating formulations.

Our organically crafted Rosehip Seed Oil is cold pressed from the seeds of the Wild Rose shrub (Rosa Rubiginosa, also known as Rosa Eglanteria) found in the Southern Andes in Chile. When extracted, the oil is a clear liquid with a natural reddish-orange tone (or dark amber, similar to Cognac) with a slightly viscous consistency. As a carrier oil, its aroma is characteristically mild, however, herbaceous, earthy, almost nutty aromas may be discovered upon acute observation. The oil is considered a “drying oil” which means that it is quickly absorbed by the skin without leaving a greasy feeling.

Our Rosehip Seed Oil is not to be confused with the more commonly found Rosa Canina variety. Indeed, Rosa Canina still boasts an assortment of wonderful nutrients (containing only 7% less essential fatty acid content than Rosa Rubiginosa), rich in Anti-Oxidants and filled with Vitamins A, D and E, as well as Omega 3, 6 and 9. These all attribute towards Rosehip Oil’s favoured reputation for deep skin hydration, repair and regeneration properties for dry and aging skin. But there are several key differences beyond the superior 78% essential fatty acid content of our choice, when compared to the more commercially available Rosa Canina.

Rosa Rubiginosa, first of all, has a different nutrient base and lower levels of Omega-6 and 9, making it more suitable for sensitive and acne-prone skin. Secondly, our oil also contains a natural source of Vitamin C and its main bioactive component “Tretinoin” (All-Trans Retinoic Acid, a derivative of Retinol), giving our Rosehip Seed Oil its enhanced proficiency with acne treatment, its restorative qualities in tissue regeneration, its competencies with wrinkle reduction and pore-soothing, and overall boosting its performance as a natural anti-aging remedy.

Interestingly, Tretinoin is also used as a medication in the treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia and is orally ingested for up to 3 months to realize its benefits, even inducing Complete Remission (CR) in patients. Our Rosehip Seed Oil truly contains a miracle component!

Steam-Distilled East Indian Sandalwood Santalum Album Wood India

The use of Sandalwood can be traced back thousands of years through several Ancient Empires in India, Egypt, Greece and Rome, when Temples and other sacred structures were built with its timber. However, due to over-harvesting through centuries, restrictions were put into effect to protect and encourage the revival of a species that became such an iconic commodity for civilizations’ benefit. Today, Sandalwood can only be used for its incense oil (prized by the perfume industry as a fixative and fragrance) and is ethically sourced through state-sponsored auctions to ensure generational continuity.

Our organically crafted East Indian Sandalwood Essential Oil is sustainably produced from the heartwood of the Indian Chandan tree (Santalum Album), ethically harvested in Mysori plantations located in the southern regions of India. The plant has a gray-brown trunk, many slender and smooth branches, leathery leaves and small pinkish purple flowers. It can take thirty to sixty years for a tree to reach full maturity at which time it can be harvested and the oil distilled.

When extracted, our Sandalwood Oil is a clear, pale yellow to golden, viscous liquid. Indian Sandalwood Essential Oil has very long, full-bodied base notes in its smooth dry down. The oil is a medium strength scent, balsamic-oriental in tone with a soft, sweet, rich, woody aroma. The oil blends beautifully with many other essential aromas including citrus notes like Neroli, precious florals such Jasmine, Rose or Ylang-Ylang and even other woody or earthy, herbaceous scents.

Along with being an effective Anti-Microbial, Sandalwood Essential Oil is deeply skin nourishing and healing. In correct dosages, it can help reduce the appearance of skin imperfections and promote healthy and smooth complexions, making it a top tier choice for use in fine skin care formulations. Sandalwood Oil is also often used to ease unwanted muscle spasms and help with minor pain and inflammation management, not to mention its aromatherapy respiratory benefits for lung health.

These berries are said to be the single highest vegetal source of Vitamin C, Vitamin E, unsaturated fatty acids and essential amino acids, along with beta-carotene, which gives them their bright color.

Sea Buckthorn Oil is an oil that deeply penetrates the skin’s lipid layer, restoring balance from within. It reduces redness, inflammation, and moisture loss, and inhibits premature signs of aging by promoting healthy skin regeneration. Rich in Anti-Oxidants, Sea Buckthorn Oil is also a natural protectant against harmful UV Rays from the sun.

Our organically crafted Sea Buckthorn Oil is Cold-Pressed from the pulp of the Hippophae Rhamnoides fruit, not to be confused with the seed oil, which is much lighter in colour and texture. Our Sea Buckthorn Oil has a deep reddish-orange to dark rum coloured tone, and thick with nutrients, solidifying as it gets colder. Bringing back to temperature using hot water baths will return the oil to a more liquid state, but it’s important not to overheat in order to retain all the rich nutrients. Sea Buckthorn Fruit Oil has a strong musky aroma, with a sour tang of berries that is characteristic of the fruit. It absorbs into skin at average speed, leaving a slight oily texture on the skin.

Sea Buckthorn Fruit Oil also contains Omega 6 and the highly sought-after Omega 7, brilliant for aiding in skin repair and regeneration, soothing inflammation and reducing redness. With plenty of Anti-Oxidants, the oil is well suited to reduce wrinkles, while soothing dry, irritated skin. By improving skin metabolism and inhibiting skin maturation by capturing rampant UV free radicals, Sea Buckthorn Oil delivers anti-aging properties in the form of fresh, soft skin. Your complexion is coated with a glowing finish through the oil’s rich in beta-carotene content, making it an elixir of choice for after-sun care.

When used in topical application, Sea Buckthorn Fruit Oil can also provide pain-relieving effects to wounds, skin abrasions and injuries, as well as soothe the discomfort of sprains and arthritic joints. Sea Buckthorn Fruit Oil’s moisturizing element and Anti-Inflammatory healing components can help to quickly soothe sunburned or damaged skin and work to rapidly eliminate the irritation.

The Tea Tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia) is a small tree with needle-like leaves, and thrives in marshy areas, though it is now cultivated in plantations for many commercial grade applications. Tea Tree is very robust and is ready for cutting only two years after its previous harvest. Tea Tree is not a tea plant, though historically, being used as a substitute for tea is how it got its name.

The Aboriginal people of Australia have long used Tea Tree Oil for its benefits, realizing the importance of this small tree’s healing attributes well before the rest of the world. Tea Tree Oil is a supremely purifying essential oil possessing many therapeutic benefits.

Our organically crafted Tea Tree Essential Oil is steam distilled from the fragrant leaves of the Melaleuca Alternifolia tree growing wild in many parts of Australia, particularly in wet lowlands. With its fresh, camphoraceous (almost medicinal), slightly spicy-floral scent with characteristically woody notes in its draw down, Tea Tree Essential Oil is a medium-strength, middle-note aroma. It is extracted as a thin, clear, pale yellow liquid that blends well with Cinnamon, Clary Sage, Geranium, Lavender, Lemon or even Myrrh.

Tea Tree Oil is one of the most well-known essential oils for purifying and cleansing, and effectively supports the immune system during the challenging winter season. It is prized for supporting a healthy respiratory system and can prove useful for treating respiratory ailments.

Tea Tree Essential Oil is known to have remarkable effects on irritated skin by helping to ease redness and restore smoothness, or simply by soothing skin that has been overexposed to the sun. The oil’s Anti-Inflammatory properties can also help soothe minor inflammations from insect bites but is even better used as an insect repellent to avoid the problem in the first place.

Tea Tree Oil has also shown a high degree of efficacy in promoting healthy nail restoration. It can also be applied topically in ointments, salves and compresses to encourage skin health and is an important oil for cleansing and restoring healthy skin tissue when properly diluted. It purifies as it heals and is a must for any home medicine cabinet or first-aid kit.
